Heartburn

Heartburn – Heartburn is a burning or uncomfortable feeling in your chest, that happens when stomach acid flows back up into the esophagus (the tube that carries food from your mouth to your stomach). Heartburn itself is common and usually harmless, but frequent heartburn can be a sign of acid reflux or Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). Persistent heartburn can impact your daily activities, your sleep, and diet. Occasional heartburn can be treated with over-the-counter medications. If symptoms do not improve then further evaluation with an Esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD), or upper endoscopy is required.

  • Fried or fatty food
